Yale art student claims to have induced and videotaped abortions
My dad and I were talking today about “artsy fartsy” liberal arts educations. He told me about this young lady’s senior art project at Yale. She claims to have artificially inseminated herself and induced abortions over a period of nine months. She intends to create and display a 4’x4’ cube wrapped in hundreds of feet of plastic sheeting, with blood collected from the miscarriages mixed with Vaseline, displayed between the sheets.
A school paper article on her project gathered national attention and sparked discussion and controversy on and off campus. The university claims that the student was never pregnant, and that she is engaged in a performance art piece. The whole series of articles from the school paper (google some combination of “yale senior art abortion” to find others) is pretty fascinating.
